Hey everyone! Surprisingly enough, we are still alive. But hey, holidays take a toll on everyone. Anyway. Down to business, shall we?

Question of the Week - Which of your voices to you consider to be your strengths? What are you best at, and what makes you stand out?

Workshop Review - The always talented Kimlinh Tran shares her experience at Crispin Freeman's voice acting classes. These classes come highly recommended, so be sure to check it out!

Link Out - Tara Platt (who we previously interviewed) and Yuri Lowental have released a great book on voice acting. Can't afford the book? At least there's the site! It's full of handy tips, anecdotes, and other things to help get you started in the wonderful world of voiceovers.

Can't really call this one a weekly digest, huh? Well, the font page hasn't gotten much love, but we do have some cool things brewing to equip aspiring voice actors.

Question of the Week - I'm sure a lot of us are interested in dubbing. But do you think a dub can even match the quality of the original? What does it take to get there?

Audition for Fanimated -  Condotcom, a site backed by talents such as Chuck Huber, Leah Clark, Chris Cason, and Todd Haberkorn, is currently holding auditions for "fanimated," a series of animations written and voiced by fans. Getting in is a little tricky, but since we've got the lowdown on who to contact and how to get in for this first round of auditions.

Seminar Review - Voice actress Kimlinh Tran reviews a workshop on emotional facial expressions. Sounds like it's got nothing to do with you? Think again. Kimlinh shares her experience and many excellent notes for the rest of us.

Demo Database - We're going to be starting a "database" of demo reels so that potential employers can hear and contact you all from one convenient place. Add your demo reel here if you'd like to be included on the list.

We're glad you asked!

Voice Actor Kick Start is a resource for anyone who is serious about going pro as a voice actor. It's a place to network, practice, improve, share your own journey, and encourage others who have taken the same difficult road. We have forums where you can discuss voice acting, get hints and tips, review classes, and share your demo.

There's a blog where you can keep us all updated on how you're doing. Rant about auditions, getting an agent, or your latest role.

Plus we have articles and podcasts with a wealth of information from people in the business to get you moving along.

VAKS is NOT a place to post fandubs, look for work, or talk about how cute your cat is. There are more than enough places for that that already do the job quite adequately. Look at our links section if you need a place like that.
